RIMC Admission Process

RIMC Admission Process, Books Recommendation and 100% Scholarships at Doon Sainik School

RIMC admission is a dream for many young aspirants who want to join the defence forces. The admission process includes a written exam, interview, and medical test. Students are tested in subjects like English, Mathematics, and General Knowledge. To start preparation, students should clearly understand the syllabus and practise previous year questions regularly.

The students who are willing to get admitted to Doon Sainik School must give the entrance exam. The exam comprises two sections: The written exam and the medical test.

The written exam has three subjects, Maths, English, and GK

Once you get through the written exam, you will have to give the medical test that will test your height, weight, and other major physical traits. This will later help you in the final exam of the Military school.

RIMC Admission Process

Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC) offers admission only to Class VIII, and the selection process is conducted at the national level. To apply, a student must be between 11½ to 13 years of age on the date specified for the term they wish to join. They should be studying in Class VII or have already passed Class VII from a recognized school.

The admission process begins with filling out the application form, which can be obtained from the official RIMC website or through state government authorities. RIMC conducts its entrance examination twice every year—for the January and July session.

The selection has three important stages:

  1. Written Examination – The exam includes three papers:
    • English (125 marks)
    • Mathematics (200 marks)
    • General Knowledge (75 marks)
Students may choose to write Maths and GK in Hindi or English, while English must be attempted only in English.
  2. Viva-Voice (Interview) – Candidates who clear the written exam are called for an interview of 50 marks, which tests personality, confidence, and awareness.
  3. Medical Examination – Final shortlisted students must pass a medical fitness test at an approved military hospital for final selection.
